So, what can you, as the notary do to position yourself as a must have for your clients? It is not something that there is an exact recipe for, but being able to interact well with people and make a favorable first impression are a great start.
Sometimes it takes time, but other times being a friendly sounding voice can get your name entrenched in a scheduler’s mind, especially on a stressful day. Being the calm in the storm always helps. Add reliability on top of that, you are off to a great start.
If you get the chance to step in and perform a signing at the last minute, and can reasonably do so, people are going to remember who you are. We’re not saying to take a job you are not ready or really willing to take. That is not a good idea. But, coming through for people in the clutch is a fantastic way to make in indelible impression.
You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, so might as well do it, as you are saving the day.
And about reliability. Be on time, look sharp, be friendly, and even if you have to act like the only professional in the room, be that professional. Follow the process, confirm appointments, in short, be the rock that everyone knows they can rely on.
